Water, Environment and Sanitation (WES)
  • Defecating in the open promotes the spreading of diseases like diarrhea, jaundice and cholera.
  • Every household should construct a low cost latrine for prevention of diseases and saving family members the inconvenience of defecating in the open.
  • Hand washing could save many lives.
  • If you don't wash your hands after using toilet, your hands become a superhighway for transmitting microbes from one person to another. Make habit of washing hands every time.
  • Faeces contain billions of virus and bacteria. They are number one public enemy in spreading diseases. Persuade everyone to defecate only in latrines. If latrines are not available then the faeces should be covered with earth.
  • Diarrhoea can be prevented through use of safe water, toilets and regular washing of hands with soap and water, especially after use of toilet and before touching food and feeding children.
